Dr. Norman Musewe

Executive Director

Norman is a Pediatric Cardiologist who combines his medical expertise with a deep passion for helping children thrive. Beyond his work in Canada, he has volunteered across Africa, caring for children and supporting under-resourced clinics with vital medical supplies.

 

His commitment inspired the creation of Sangano Children’s Health, an NGO dedicated to bringing quality care to children in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Herani Sahlu

Vice Chair | Legal/Regulatory

Herani Sahlu Dembu is a multidisciplinary professional skilled in law, health research ethics, project management. She is the Vice Board Chair of Sangano Children’s Health and serves as Volunteer & Event with Refuge Ministries in Toronto. With an MBA and LLB, is pursuing an MSc in Health Research Ethics to advance ethical research practices. She is passionate about advancing ethical, inclusive, and impactful research through regulatory leadership and cross-sector collaboration.

Maud Masiyiwa

Advocate

Maud Masiyiwa leads Climate Friendly Travel at the SUNx Program, promoting sustainable tourism in 46 Least Developed Countries. With a Master’s in Responsible Tourism Management and various industry qualifications, she combines expertise with impactful initiatives. A dedicated entrepreneur and women's empowerment advocate, Maud fosters-focused projects that create lasting opportunities while prioritizing and meaningful engagement.

Trevor Ncube

Zimbabwe Liaison

Trevor Ncube is a prominent Zimbabwean media entrepreneur and of Alpha Media Holdings, which publishes NewsDay, Southern Eye, The Zimbabwe Independent, and The Standard. A veteran journalist and former head of South Africa's Mail & Guardian, Ncube has received prestigious awards like the International Publishers Freedom Prize. He is also a devoted Christian, farmer, and traveler.

Endra Musewe

Ex-Officio Associate

Endra Musewe is a former board member of HAGO and a long-time leader of the Women’s Group at a local church, Refugee Homes. She brings professional experience in human resources and purchasing management, and is also a trained nurse with 30 years of experience in medical administration. Endra has a strong passion for serving newcomers and vulnerable populations.

Cindy Bruce-Barrett

Canadian Board Member

Cindy Bruce-Barrett is a seasoned healthcare leader with over twenty years of operations, strategy, and project management experience. A registered nurse with advanced degrees and PMP certification, she has held progressive leadership roles at SickKids, contributing to international projects and co-leading COVID-19 community outreach. Now Principal of CB Squared Consulting, she provides strategic planning, project management, and advisory services to healthcare, community, and nonprofit organizations.

Chairman of the Board | Communications and Media

Lerissa is an HR professional with Psychology background, focusing on community development, entrepreneurship, and teaching. With extensive experience at African and Hago, and serving as Chief of Staff at ICON Talent Partners, she empowers individuals through counseling and mentorship. Passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, she advocates for celebrating native contributions and addressing systemic inequality.

Zareh Zeitlian

Secretary | Financial Manager

Zareh Zetlian is a Canadian Armenian nonprofit leader and tech consultant with a background in telecom, faith-based service, and digital transformation. He leads global partnerships at a local church in Toronto and co-founded the International Association for Refugees (Canada). Fluent in multiple languages, he develops digital tools using Salesforce and AI to support impact-driven work.

Brian Relph

Strategy and Planning Manager

Brian Relph is a retired corporate executive from Shoppers Drug Mart with extensive board governance experience, including serving as Chairman of the Board of Governors at a local church in Toronto. He currently leads the Onesimus Foundation, a family-run charitable organization engaged in global relief and missions work.

Dr. Solange Belluz

International and Coordination Regulations

Dr. Solange Belluz is the Pastor of Congregational Life at The Peoples Church and a skilled Life Coach Speaker, and Corporate Trainer. She founded The Coaching and Leadership Training Centre and has over 20 years of experience in the Ontario Public Service. Solange holds multiple degrees, an MBA and a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership.

Lara Boghos

Ex-Officio Associate

Lara Boghos is the Refugee Ministry Manager at The Peoples Church, where she helps newcomers integrate and belong in thriving communities as they begin their lives in Toronto. With a background in theology and experience across nonprofits and education in Lebanon and Canada, she brings deep cross-cultural and leadership insight to her work.

Jane Eisbrenner

Canadian Board Member

Jane is a seasoned senior executive with extensive leadership experience in large and mid-sized non-profit organizations. Passionate about children, she has taught Sunday School for decades, built a Children’s Museum, led national programs for Diabetes Canada, and taught financial skills through Junior Achievement. She has presented internationally on diabetes and chaired the Ontario Prayer Breakfast. Her global volunteer work includes supporting children in Greece, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Mexico.

Mabasa Crispen Mukome

Legal Advisor

Mabasa Crispen Mukome is a Zimbabwean Legal Practitioner, Conveyancer, and Notary Public based in Harare. He serves as Senior Partner at M.C. Mukome Legal Practitioners, a firm he helped establish in 2011. He holds an LLB from the University of Zimbabwe and an MHRPD from Africa University. Practising since 1999, he has held roles from Professional Assistant to Managing Partner and has extensive experience in commercial litigation, civil litigation, family law, and legal advisory work.

Phillip Mutasa

Zimbabwe Board Member

Phillip Mutasa is a non-stipendiary Anglican Priest and Rector of St Stephen Anglican Church in Sunningdale, Harare. Educated at Thekwane High School and the University of Rhodesia, he earned a Master’s in Business Leadership from UNISA in 1995 and holds UK insurance and risk management fellowships. He founded Capitol Insurance Brokers and is its CEO. He chairs Tariro Youth Project, serves on several boards, and is married to Tambu with three children.

Winnie Muchanyuka

Zimbabwe Board Member

Winnie is a seasoned business leader with over 23 years of local and international experience in tourism, aviation, and communications, specializing in business development and marketing. She holds an MSc in Tourism and Hospitality Management, an MBA, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Strategic Management. A mother of two adult sons, she is a dedicated Seventh-day Adventist and Masterguide who enjoys mentoring youth and sharing her faith.

Callisto Jokonya

Zimbabwe Board Member

Dr. Callisto Jokonya is an accomplished industrialist and born-again Christian with over 30 years of leadership experience in commerce and industry. He is Chairman and CEO of Imperial Derby Refrigeration and has held key roles at TA Electric and ARDA. Holding an MBA and a PhD in Accounting, he has served as President of several national industry bodies and sits on multiple corporate and nonprofit boards. He is married to Lydia with four children.
